Um, ok so I think my dog knows what I said about her yesterday in my journal. She's been pointedly ignoring me lately. Of course it's more than likely that having two baths in one day has made her a little leery of me. (Her having the two baths, two baths per day is part of my normal routine.

But anyway, I do have reason to celebrate! The boys in blue, the Azzurri, not the police, absolutely dismissed Wales in their Euro 2004 qualifier. 4 goals to NIL!!!! Forza Italia!

The best part for me (not that I got to see the match) was that it was Pippo, in whom Trap hasn't had faith for months, who got three of the four goals. In eleven minutes no less. Del Pierro scored from a penalty and Vieri not at all. Shove that up your arse Trappatoni!!!

i'm not the HUGEST pippo fan, as you may have guessed, but, well...a hat trick is always cool, and dammit those were good goals. and he looked, um, as happy as i think pippo is capable of looking. there might have been a hint of a grin. ;) vieri looked a bit off to me, and i cant help but think that injury was still bothering him and he wasn't actually 100% fit. del piero had such bad luck. *weeps* in the first half, he looked more likely to score than anyone. the penalty was a small consolation, i guess.

Hee! Well we can't all love the same guys, we'd fall over each other as we stalked them....lol. I've always thought that Del P. looked much stronger and confident in league play than national duty (I blame it all on Trap whom I despise, my fave Italy coach was actually Dino Zoff).
I agree that Vieri was still probably in some pain. My view is that he was there for the intimidation factor. I'd imagine he gives defenders nightmares. Whenever I see him heading for the area in attack I always think of Monty Python and the Holy Grail when they yell "Run away, run away!"

hee, 'strue, it'll cut down on the bickering and the hair-pulling too, i'd wager... 'no, it's MY turn to stalk him now!' 'no, MINE'. ;) and you're absolutely right about del piero he's had his moments for the national team, but...generally he's loads better and more consistant with juve. although, and maybe it's just me, i think he's actually seemed a bit better lately playing for italy. but no guarantees it'll last. trap does have a certain touch, that's for sure. and not in a good way.
yeah, that's kind of what i figured abotu vieri, too. the intimidation factor, and then for his own teammates, to know the opponents are pissing themselves about vieri probably helps as well. bwaha, if saw that big ox bearing down on me, i'd certainly run away!

he's got such foofy, curly girly hair rightnow. i dunno why but it bothers me a bit. altho, i did kind of see the advantage of it after del piero scored his penalty, when he grabbed a handful of vieri's hair and pulled him down to kissing level. ;) ooooooooh, do you mean the pics from yesterday's game where they're all piled in a heap? the last one? cos there's distinct alex bum there. very very nice. :D
