diemme: moon over winter plains (winter night)
This journal just pulled up a draft from a decade ago! Butter my buns and call me biscuit! I can't decide if that's efficient or not.

It's a new year but definitely not a new me. There are things I want to change, naturally. Also, things I want to encourage.
  1. Acting and not reacting: I keep saying I miss the cosy social media experience of yesteryear. I miss small communities of like minded people immersed in discussion of esoteric lore. I miss tiny icons. I miss fic exchanges and fandom secret santas. This is a still a cosy platform with cosy people. I intend to participate.
  2. Daily exercise: I'm sorting the gym out. But, currently, I can't do more than twice a week. I can do some arms and shoulders and body weight exercises before work. I intend to be old one day and I want to be strong and healthy with a clear mind.
  3. Make higher protein and veggie lunches: sandwiches are easy but protein keeps me fuller longer, I get it.
  4. Write more: I'm aiming for 500 words per week. They don't have to be good words or a part of a larger work. I just want to write. Also, I want to make at least one journal entry per week independent of the 500 words.
  5. Read more, read more widely, read more meaningfully.
  6. Learn languages more meaningfully. The horror that was the eternal 2020 got me addicted to grinding away at Duolingo. I don't feel as though I've learned much. I'm still working out what this means.

Thighs,

I put you through no trials today you had not already faced before the Christmas break. Stop acting as though you're going to give out on me! Should you persist I will be forced to take you back to the gym tomorrow. SATURDAY!

Less love than usual,

Me.

Dearest [livejournal.com profile] calzamante  and [livejournal.com profile] leetje  your cards arrived two days ago, thank you!! They'd been mistakenly delivered to the neighbours who were away over Christmas. The address was perfectly clear on both envelopes and I suspect we have a new mail carrier.
