Home again, home again
Jan. 12th, 2026 01:39 pmThis journal just pulled up a draft from a decade ago! Butter my buns and call me biscuit! I can't decide if that's efficient or not.
It's a new year but definitely not a new me. There are things I want to change, naturally. Also, things I want to encourage.

- Acting and not reacting: I keep saying I miss the cosy social media experience of yesteryear. I miss small communities of like minded people immersed in discussion of esoteric lore. I miss tiny icons. I miss fic exchanges and fandom secret santas. This is a still a cosy platform with cosy people. I intend to participate.
- Daily exercise: I'm sorting the gym out. But, currently, I can't do more than twice a week. I can do some arms and shoulders and body weight exercises before work. I intend to be old one day and I want to be strong and healthy with a clear mind.
- Make higher protein and veggie lunches: sandwiches are easy but protein keeps me fuller longer, I get it.
- Write more: I'm aiming for 500 words per week. They don't have to be good words or a part of a larger work. I just want to write. Also, I want to make at least one journal entry per week independent of the 500 words.
- Read more, read more widely, read more meaningfully.
- Learn languages more meaningfully. The horror that was the eternal 2020 got me addicted to grinding away at Duolingo. I don't feel as though I've learned much. I'm still working out what this means.
