Well somehow I've found myself an EPL fan. I blame all that fanfic entirely. Trouble is I don't have a particular team, just random players. I suppose if I had to pick a team, at gunpoint or whatever, it would be Liverpool because Mikey is just edible. Besides I've always loved the term "Liverpudlians" Not that I spelled that correctly. A pity about all Liverpool's injuries though. It seemed a fairly violent day for the EPL all 'round, umpteen bookings and sendings off.

ESPN decided to show the Sunday Serie A games instead of Saturday's so I missed the Milan - Bologna fixture. They did show SuperPippo's, damn straight Super-kiss my arse Trappatoni-Pippo, goal and that was some consolation. Hee, I bet coaches all over Italy are making their defenders write out a thousand times, "I must not give Inzaghi an inch inside the box."
Both Mrs Inzaghi's wee boys scored this weekend with Simone netting one for Lazio.

I got up at nine am on Sunday to catch the Roma match. Energising to say the least, Totti was in rare form with two fantastic goals. They had little trouble romping all over Brescia. Juve had more trouble with Chievo but they managed, ending 2-1.

I think the next Euro 2004 qualifier is in October against Azerbaijan. Pippo and Del P look fit and dangerous as does that new Juve signing whose name I refuse to try and spell. Totti looked good today and he's Trap's precioussss so he's got no worries about being selected. Perhaps Scary-Hair Vieri might end up being the bench warmer this time, unless they want him to scare the defenders.

I promised my mum that I would help her with her lesson plan for Catholic kiddy camp (my name for this class she's helping with) who in their right minds would willingly associate with five year olds? Wanders off to break down prayers into kiddie speak.

Personally I think Mikey has made many a lass Liverpool fan...

says she, gazing at her Michael Owen posters.

Still, EPL is just too lovely not to like!

I just bet he has! The worst part was my dad sitting with me saying, "I thought you only watched the Italian clubs, what's brought this interest in England on?"

Then you just answer, 'the slashability of the players'.

;)

Hmmm, you know he might just think that was an obscure psychological term. lol.

argh. i envy you. your epsn shows serie a. they don't over here.

i got to see some games on a channel called from wowow (it's from japan, i think) but not this year. suddenly they've decided they will show real madrid games ONLY. what gives?!?!?!?! see... that's the reason why i don't think david beckham is a ray of sunshine... it's as if the world revolves around him.. although i'm sure he doesn't want that.. but still. that's the reality now.

he he he he he yeah... welcome to the fold!!! HAR HAR HAR!!! liverpool's not a bad team to support.. they're a great team (and i'm a manc!) so the next time the father asks you why you just say, "they're great..." (with an inner voice saying: "... to look at.. i'd like michael owen for brekkie tomorrow...")

ciao.

That was my situation last season because Fox Sport had suddenly stopped showing Serie A games. Now that I'm back home we get all the ESPN channels, I think, I, II and international.

Hee, hee, inner voices, I love them. My dad is a Newcastle fan so this will give us something new to argue about until Euro 2004.

*sighs* the liverpool supporters just keep multiplying. ;P hee. i blame slash fic for many a thing. there's always some kind of slashyness to love about every team.

i've got chievo/juve taped to watch when i get hom this afternoon.i'm just happy they managed a win. even if alex didn't score for me.

hee, i think our pretty new boy's name is spelled leggrotaglie. might just be the one 'g' in the first part, tho...and the rest of it mightbe wrong too. so confusing. ;) october 11!! can't wait. i dunno if poor scary-hair can compete with those foot massages, so he might be on the bench.

That looks right, I think I'm going to call him Leggro. In my opinion Vieri hasn't impressed lately and he's hurt his ankle I think. So perhaps it might be Totti, Del P and this new kid or Pippo.

The Juve game was a good one, I love to watch Davids!

ok, i made a point of checking when i was on the juve site. it's legrottaglie. one g in eac spot, two t's. silly name. ;P all i've noticed about vieri lately is the hair. yeah, he hurt his ankle in the s&m game (hee!!)...dont know how long he's out for, i know for sure this week because hes not playing against arsenal in the CL.

ahhh, it was such a good game! so entertaining, the whole thing. i was so impressed with chievo, actually. juve had to work for their points, but i thought they deserved them in the end. davids is great. i really hope we dont lose him to roma next year. or sooner. :(

I can't imagine Davids playing for another team. He and Gattuso are a bit alike. I hear the same sound whenever I see them tackle an opponent, that rolling kind of noise a bowling ball makes and then the "kerplow" of flying pins.

OMG Van der Sar is in the EPL, when did Juve sell him?

Date: 2003-09-16 09:28 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jetpants.livejournal.com
i know, i really don't want him to leave, and it kind of disappoints me that he seems to want to. apparently he told roma he'd play for them, and now he's intent on going. gattuso is a very similar player, yeah. definite "kerplow" to their tackles, that's a good description of it!

err...i think we sold him the year before last. which epl team is he with now? i can't remember, but i know this past weekend i just saw highlights of him somewhere...

I think whichever one that played Man. City. I used to really like him, such a cute, scrawny little thing for a goal keeper.
