It never pays to try and be clever! I had next to no sleep on Saturday night and forced myself to forgo napping on Sunday afternoon in favour of an early night. So I settled in
by midnight expecting seven peaceful hours. I woke up at one am, 2:27 am, 3:45 am and so on and so forth 'til I actually had to get up and start the day. What's worse is that I
kept on having goofy dreams. I hate goofy dreams! The last one involved me running down a (thankfully deserted) corridor of a hotel my dad supposedly owned, in my undies and a push up bra. Then I ran into a room and Prince or whatever he's calling himself now was there. He adjusted my bra so I'd show more cleavage. The worst of it all was that it was a lucid dream so I kept telling myself to wake up while being manhandled by Prince.

It was melting this morning then faded into a misty gray after lunch. My throat was scratchy and I ached all over (lovely new virus going 'round) then I had a reaction to something...I got scratchy bumps on my hands and arms. I convalesced by lying on the couch and watching the reruns of Milan/Lecce and Lazio/Empoli on ESPN. Most people don't agree but reruns of matches are great. When Milan plays I'm so caught up in watching the team as a whole, hoping
they score and defend well that I miss all the non footie action the individual drama that goes on, the human factor. The reruns let me relax and catch up.

Dida completely upended Nesta and one of Lecce's strikers. He came up to deal with a strike and Nesta and the striker couldn't stop in time. They all soared into the air and landed in a heap on the pitch. I'm fond of Dida, he seems calmer than the other Brazilians and definitely
quieter than most goalkeepers. Some of them abuse their defenders horribly when they've messed up but as Dida has Maldini, Nesta and company to depend on he doesn't have much to complain about. He came out to pat Paolo on the back for dealing with a bothersome ball from Lecce.

Paolo Maldini has great hair! I've been noticing this all season but it looked fantastic against Lecce. It's all soft and glossy, a lovely colour and full of body. His hair looks better while he's playing than in daily life...must be the headband. Nesta's goes into little curls now that it's shorter...too cute. I've noticed that he gets a grass stain on his shorts in exactly the same place every match...grass stain on the left bum cheek and down the thigh. In almost every goal celebration group hug he puts his
hand on Paolo's back....such slashy goodness!

I might be overloading on slash...I'm seeing it everywhere and starting to think in terms of it. After everyone went back into position after Sheva scored (was a good birthday for him) Nesta glanced at Paolo as he walked past but Paolo didn't look at him, just kept his head down. Now,logically I know that he was probably focussed on the game and had things on his mind but the slash loving part of me blurted out, "Ohhhh, I hope they haven't had a falling out!"

Well, I'm actually tired...YAY...so I'm going to try and take advantage of it. Inter's on in a few hours! Hee, they'll have to play the Milan derby without Nasty. Little. Materazzi. I'm trying not to be too thrilled that the bloodthirsty little prat is injured, karma and all!
