Dear religious fundies everywhere,

Birth control helps prevent abortions.

No love,

Me.

P.S: Jesus thinks you're stupid.

Has been reading about the Fundies and the new laws allowing pharmacists to refuse to sell birth control if it conflicts with their tender little morals.

Want to bet we'll never hear of a pharmacist refusing to fill a prescription for Viagra?

Exactly. My favourite birth control ad goes something like, the best birth control pill is the wedding ring until then, use a condom. Something like that.

Religious fundies bite. We have some up here who are screaming about our (Canada's) newly-passed gay marriage law -- they're demanding that religious officials and civil servants be allowed to REFUSE, without censure, to perform marriages if Teh Icky Gayness "violates" their religious beliefs. *rolls eyes* I mean, CIVIL SERVANTS too! My taxes go towards paying those people to perform their civic duties as directed by law... and if they choose not to carry out part of their job duties because of personal beliefs, they should resign and find another job.

That's exactly how I feel about the pharmacists-refusing-birth-control-to-patients issue, too.

Precisely! It's new form of control, not a "brave stand for rights."

amazingly! mexico just added the morning after pill to their basic med package that people can access free through their social services.

the health secretary of the conservative PAN party did it too.

and now all the bishops & priests are raving about sin and eternal damnation.
maybe if *they* could get pregnant....

That's pretty progressive of Mexico, kudos to them!
