Poor Ancona are the first team to be certain of relegation this season. There is no possibility, mathematically, of them avoiding the drop. I'm a bit sad over it actually and I hope they manage a win before the end of the season, for pride's sake.
What can be said about our match with Modena? Ancelotti thinks that it was one we "deserved to win." In his dreams, bah! We ought to have won it, we ought to have realised that the team was tired, our best forward wasn't in the squad and we ought to have tightened things up after the goal and left pretty football for Wednesday! But we didn't! I think Milan were already thinking of Deportivo and not taking Modena seriously enough. Still, a point isn't the worst thing in the world, even if Roma win the derby replay (whenever that may be) they will still be six points behind.
The match itself was ugly stuff, kicking, slapping, pushing, whinging and cards aplenty. Modena put in some nasty tackles and quite a few of them will, deservedly, miss their next match. Ambrosini went off injured, Nessie was brutally taken out of it and poor Pippo was really put through the wringer. Pippo worked hard in this match but the back of the net was as elusive as the Holy Grail for our poor blistered boy. Nessie put in some excellent, physical challenges, proving he's quite fit again. Paolo even got carded over him! 44' MALDINI BOOKED
The captain is booked for protesting a presumed foul on Nesta. He saw that his teammate was being treated unfairly and he didn't like it. *floves him* There were quite a few scuffles in the making during the match. Nessie was mediator during one of them and the Modena player involved kept touching his face in a patronising sort of way. Gattuso appeared to want to rumble with a Modena player after the match was over.
Inter-Juve was as good as the late game usually is. Inter had two things going for them, Zac bought a clue and started Martens (why he hasn't played every game this season I'll never understand) and Nasty. Little. Materazzi was back. He's a git but he's a git that can defend, provide and attack efficiently. Juve had several things working against them, Nedved and Del P were out, Montero was in and the defense was leaky. Di Vaio scored though, Miccoli worked his tail off and Leggro showed the occasional flash of competence. Montero was his usual twat self, doing the same thing to Martens that he did to Totters a few weeks ago. Martens just rolled once or twice, winced and bounced up again, nothing like Totters' picturesque performance, six rolls, arm extended, golden curls flying and lips parted in a tragic wail. Still, it did get Montero a second yellow and his walking papers. Hopefully, Lippi found time in the dressing room to say, "Oi, stop getting sent off, dumbass!"
Liverpool won and Mikey scored twice! They are now ahead of Newcastle and in the fourth spot. Real won and Valencia won so things look to be hotting up in Spain. And mango season is beginning again! I'm not much of a fruit person but I like mangoes, especially when you put them in the freezer for a while, mmmmmmmm.
Paolo on vacation in Miami. Floves the dorky white shoes.
Ambrosini looks like he's offloading some gossip on Pippo. "Honey, I could tell you stories that would curl your hair."
Nessie: Yep, you've been cut alright!
I love the way the kids are looking at each other.
Cristian: That shirt is really dorky!
Daniel: Oh yeah? Well dad likes me better than you!
