Dog woes and the daily dose.

I wonder if one can learn to be a cat person. Aside from the climbing everywhere,
hairball problem and smelly litterboxes they have to be easier pets than dogs, right? We've always had dogs, I like dogs, I like the one I have now...really. She's smart, brave, cute and she looks at me as if I were the smartest, most wonderful person in the world. Who wouldn't love a dog like that?
The problem is she has too much energy...it's like living with a dozen three year olds who never heard of nap time. I might have made a mistake in naming her "Azzurri." She's sleek and glossy with a black coat verging on blue and I thought it fit. She does play her own version of football with whatever's handy and she loves to run...and run...and run. She's finally over her false pregnancy, thank God, that was a bloody nightmare. Of course, now she's developed an affinity for hiding under the pillows on the guestroom bed and sitting up unexpectedly when anyone walks into the room.
She's buried or lost the last set of toys so I'll be making a trip to the pet store for some more tomorrow. Today she got locked in the house accidentally and I found her happily running around with an unmentionable piece of laundry that was left on the guestroom bed. She's stopped chewing slippers but bitten holes in three mats and unpotted four small plants so she could play with the plastic pots. She actually did that carefully, the plants weren't damaged a bit. Hee, she also tried to protect me today! She's finally made a truce with the gardener, she won't bite his heels as long as she can follow him and supervise. She hates the lawn mower with a passion and when I came home and walked by it she nosed me aside and stood in front of me barking at the thing frantically. She'll be a year old in a month and I guess she'll start to grow up soon...I HOPE!
OH, and also.....
