I heard about that on the news yesterday, ugh. The report ended with the news anchor saying in a rather mollifying tone, "The tiger was killed shortly thereafter."
What. The. FUCK?! I was so upset. I felt much more sorry for the dead tiger than for the teenager and her family. Unfortunate as the attack was, people should know better.
The way humans have chosen to subjugate animals makes me sick. We're not even willing to share this planet with them -- we treat them like they're expendable and inconsequential to OUR existence, when actually the opposite is true. It's absolutely disgusting. [/rant]
