I'd forgotten how raw South Park can be...

It was the episode where Cartman drugs Butters with cold meds during a sleepover and takes a picture of himself with Butters' anatomy in his mouth. He takes the photo to his buddies to show how gay it makes Butters look but his friends inform him that it makes him look gay and stupid. Butters is tricked into saying he's Bi-Curious and ends up at a scared straight camp. Cartman ends up showing the photo during his class' Show and Tell.

I think I'm too young for South Park.

Btw, what is this March Madness crap and why is it getting in the way of new episodes of Criminal Minds?

Watching 16 and Pregnant has convinced me that birth control devices need to be implanted in both sexes once puberty begins. I'm honestly hoping that the show searches for the dumbest couples it can find to amp up the drama potential.

Law and Order SVU needs to resolve the Benson/Stabler UST. I have two suggestions: Elliot's wife divorces him, the woman's gotten the short end of the stick for years, and he and Liv slowly explore a relationship. Or Elliot gets very drunk and emo and sleeps with Liv who becomes pregnant. Liv takes some personal time when she finds out  - 2 months or so - and meets Mr. Right. Elliot realises the baby is his but steps back and lets Liv be happy with Mr. Right.

I'm wondering what it must be like to be a fan of a team like Cagliari where a draw or even a goal against a top side is cause for jubilation. When Milan wins I feel an overwhelming sense of relief. I long to feel joy again.

Yeah,
G'night.

A peaceful Sunday for once

Thanks to Milan doing the needful on Saturday my tummy is not roiling and my nerves remain un-jangled. It certainly helped that so many Samp boys were suspended but I think the win owed more to great football from Milan. Hopefully, all the industrious skipping about bodes well for the coming week's CL fixture.

I finished rereading The Sword of Shannara and began The Elfstones of Shannara again. I should substitute "ploughing through" for reading. There's no character in the Shannara triology that I can latch on to and care about. Terry Brooks tried for a "Fellowship" feel (in some places you feel that he must have been writing with Tolkien Cliffnotes beside him) but it's difficult to believe these Dwarves, Elves and Men really are working together to save their homelands. I'm beginning to truly loathe Allanon all over again. Every time he calls Amberle, "Elven girl," I'm hoping she replies, "Does Amberle have to choke a bitch?" Alas!

I must confess that I watched Genoa-Parma solely for the opportunity of catching a close up of Davide Lanzafame. Purty, ain't he?

I learned that there is a surprising lot of good hair on the Parma squad. I'm hoping to find pictures later. But, honestly, what had me giggling all through the match was this

Gasperini of Genoa = +

Anyway, darlings, the Rome derby is on; De Rossi's in a mask and Totters looks like he's growing his hair out.

Nibbles nails...

But dear Italian football, how you do bring the man love. Picture it, Napoli's home stadium 2009, a game against Milan; a sweet young Napoli thing not only gives Andrea Pirlo a welcoming hug but massages his neck and walks up the tunnel steps snuggled against him.

Ooooh, nice shot of Sandro promising to string everyone up by the short and curlies if they don't get with the program.

Please don't let us mess up.

Oh, PIPPO, you ninth world wonder!

Bloody hell, BABY DUCK!

NOOOOOO, he wouldn't come off unless it was serious.

And the downward spiral begins. Still it could be worse than a draw.

An angel with a slightly fractured nose.

A.C. MILAN OFFICIAL NOTE

10/26/2009

MILAN - A.C. Milan communicate that the footballer Alessandro Nesta was subjected to the reduction of a small fracture in his nasal bones by dr. Paolo Marconi. The Rossoneri player will be regularly available for tomorrow's training, ahead of the match in Naples.

From Football Italia:

“It's a wonderful night and a new thing for me - I never score! We had to win tonight to latch on to fourth place, so it all went well,” smiled the veteran."

And he's a well mannered boy who thinks of others:

“Dida was fantastic, he saved the game for us tonight. If we'd conceded then, we would've lost, no doubt.”

His coach thinks he's all that and a bag of chips:

“As for Nesta, what more can I say? He has become far more than a player for us and he's indescribable. He needs a halo at the moment.

“He started this season not really knowing if he would ever play again. That is a very big thing to have in a players' mind and it shines through in his performances, as he gives everything he's got.

Kind words from Uncle Fester:

“As for Nesta, he is fantastic. After the injury and the risk to his career, he has changed. He has improved a lot as a man.

“Today we can say that he is even better than the already brilliant Nesta before the injury,” Galliani concluded.

Even The Guardian was kind while getting in their digs (can't really blame them):

"I never score," exclaimed Nesta after the final whistle had blown, but even then to focus only on his goals would be to overlook his greater contribution. As he has been all season, Nesta was the foundation stone around which the whole team was built, his understanding of the game and enduring speed allowing him to compensate for team-mates' shortcomings.

I have a feeling those folk who don't have Milan and Alessandro Nesta in their lives are vaguely amused at the rapture of those of us that do.
You lot are just lucky I'M NOT STILL ALL CAPSLOCKY! I think in the deepest, darkest corners of our hearts many Milan fans feared that he might hang up his boots in favour of a quiet, pain free life. To see him back to his old forward chivvying, defense organizing, griping, sliding tackling self is like having all our birthdays come at once. At one message board I visit male posters are even offering their bums in honour of his greatness. As though Alessandro Nesta wouldn't have better fish to fry!  ;D Still, it's probably good for morale.

Leo: Bwahahahaha, for my next trick I clone him!

Damn, does this mean we're out of a job now?

Let me get back to you on that!

Monday is going to suck!

I'm failing at trying to have a positive attitude, I know.  But, I'm sick of work drama! I dread the inevitable bitch fest that's going to explode over the mysteriously missing Samsung Slide. I'm also dreading the travesty that will be tomorrow's strategic planning meeting.

My boss, the director, has a workshop tomorrow and can't chair the meeting. You'd think six managers and a few co-ordinators could hammer out a strat plan on their own, yes? Wrong! With no one above them to keep them on track they'll be whining about current issues in the department instead of working out what we're going to do long term. Current issues are important but the strat plan is due on May 19th; the lowly co-ordinators, myself included, have to put it together before then and get the director to vett it. We'll be scrambling to finish like last year because the managers believe that sort of thing isn't their job. How the hell can planning and budgeting for one's own department not be part of a manager's job? Feh, I say! Feh!

I have no opinions on the Serie A title race or the evil scandal. As for Sheva...if he wants to go then let him go, for a top price and no exchanges. It's Jaap and Rui I'm going to miss. * clings *

That should be enough bitching for one night.

Better late...

At [livejournal.com profile] super_em 's command. At least the music memes are farking easy. List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

I warn you lot, I'm in a serious Cure joygasm!

  1. Disintegration - The Cure.
  2. Trust - The Cure
  3. Charlotte Sometimes - The Cure.
  4. New Year's Day - U2.
  5. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division.
  6. Never Gonna be the Same - Sean Paul
  7. Black Dog - Led Zepplin.

I haven't uploaded the music cuz I'm lazy! I won't tag because I think everyone has already done this meme; I'm always so late with these things.

I have a very tiny mint garden that I took very crappy digital pics (also unuploaded (new word)) I have regular mint, chocolate mint and orange mint and I'm very proud! I'll post the pics tomorrow.

In the meantime let's talk about Milan! So amazing against Fener and kudos to the Fener fans for applauding Sheva the great. It was such a lighthearted game; even Rui took getting half stripped in stride. Paolo played with a black eye and looked hot despite it. He had to do extra cuddling of Sheva since Kaka wasn't there to help out.
