I really think that Milan needs to buy two young defenders this summer. I'm not knocking the four who were out there today; I think one would be hard pressed to find defenders with more skill and experience than Paolo, Cafu, Billy and Pancaro. But they aren't 25 year olds and since Nessie was injured they've been playing in the league and CL with little rotation and as long as Nessie and Kaladze aren't fit and Ancelotti doesn't trust Laursen's skills they'll have to pick up the slack and get worn out. Paolo has looked as though he was hurting since the second leg of the CL tie with Sparta and Billy had a minor problem today too. You could tell that Pancaro and Cafu were exhausted, they love making runs up the flanks and today they barely got out of midfield. We need young defenders to take some of the pressure off, we also need our Nessie!  I think Milan is in talks with Lecce for one of their defenders, I think we should try to get Puyol from Barca. I believe we were trying once but they wanted Rui in exchange *pouts* I don't want our Rui to go.

Due to injury, Canna, Del P and Nessie have all been left out of the squad facing Portugal. I wonder to whome the armband will go. Vieri maybe or Totti? I always chuckle when I picture Totters as captain of the Azzurri, then my inner voice reminds me that he's functioned quite efficiently as Roma's captain for years. Though, it's one thing to captain a side where one is the superstar and another to captain a side where everyone is a superstar. I wish ESPN would show the Italians instead of Holland-France. I like Holland but ESPN showed their last friendly and I'm in no way a French team fan.

I've convinced myself that Chievo were partly responsible for our equalising. They dithered and wasted time in the last few minutes and it came back to bite them. We drew, Roma lost and Juve won.

Lazio is in fourth place still, damn them, and with a game in hand. If they were playing anyone but Roma I'd want them to lose but it is best for Milan if Lazio wins. Inter better get in gear and keep winning cuz I want them in the fourth spot...yeah!
