Never drink alone.
Aug. 26th, 2003 01:12 amPoints above, I should have listened to myself! Damn it sucks to be half drunk and by yourself. I'm missing my friend Stephanie a lot, I hate that we don't talk anymore, I hate that we are a damn ocean away. She was one of the few women I could really relate to, hell we were each other's bi-curious experiment. Nothing too scandalous we just frenched each other, drunk on absinthe in front of three male friends. Sigh, I miss her though, she and her Kate Winslet obssession.
Ok, I've found a way to cheer myself up and I'll share it with you lot (whomever finds their way to this LJ that is. I'll take it in steps.
1. Be in your mid to late twenties, necessary so you can look back and laugh at your teenage self.
2. Have attended at least a moderately good high school following the British system.
3. Have done sixth form.
4. Have written poetry in sixth form. Everyone, and I mean everyone who has gone through sixth form and A levels has written poetry to survive it. I don't care if your subjects were Physics, Chem and Maths, at some point you scribbled inane things in the margins of your texts.
5. Get out said sixth form poetry and reread the tripe!
6. Laugh 'til you pee!
Now if anyone thinks I'm being bitchy and judgemental, I'll show you the kind of thing I mean. I wrote poetry at seventeen too while seated in Mrs Phagoo's Sheakspeare class. I'm certainly not saying that a seventeen year old is incapable of possessing poetic talent but most of us are just God awful at that age.

Emeralds and sapphires drift t'wards the land
The sun adds diamonds to the tapestry
Like glittering rain they rise then fall
And crashing, scatter pearls on the sand.
This one made me laugh 'til I cried, I have to find the rest of it!

Ummm ok, I was wrong. Zamolodchikova was indeed at the 2003 WGC. I checked the official website and she tied for a silver in the vault. Chusovitina won the vault as usual, I can't believe she's still going strong at 28. More proof that the dumb 3 up in the team competition is idiotic...none of the all around medalists were even in any of the event finals.
I caught the Leeds - Tottenham match on Fox Sports today. I think I approve of Postiga, a busy lad he seems. I also watched a repeat of the Valencia-Inter CL QF. I was glad because I missed it the first time around, only focussing on my Milan of course. This was a good match, I must pay more attention to Valencia in future. Heaven knows ESPN and Fox will show lots of La Liga. Angry Toldo too, manhandling his own teammates, not that he didn't have good reason.
